    CBSE Board 10th exams 2025-26 - The Central Board of Secondary Education conducts Class 10th board examination for regular and private students. Students who have enrolled in Class 10 in a school affiliated with the CBSE board are eligible to appear in the CBSE 10th board exam 2026. As per the CBSE board scheme, the Class 10 board exam will be conducted twice a year starting from 2026. The Phase I exam has been conducted from February 17 to March 11, 2026, and the second exam will be tentatively conducted from May 15 to June 1, 2026. Check out the details of both exams below. 

    CBSE 10th Phase-I Exam 2025-26 Details:

    • The CBSE 10th board exams for Phase I were conducted from February 17 to March 11, 2026. 
    • The board released the CBSE 10th admit card 2026 for phase 1 exams on February 3, 2026. 
    • The Central Board of Secondary Education will declare the CBSE Class 10 result for the term 1 exam by April 2026.

    CBSE Class 10 Phase-II Exam 2025-26 Details: 

    • The CBSE 10th term 2 exams will be tentatively conducted from May 15 to June 1, 2026.
    • The admit card for the CBSE 10th Class phase 2 examination will be released in April 2026. 
    • The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to declare the CBSE 10th result 2026 for phase 2 by June 6, 2026.

    More Details About the CBSE 10th Class Board Examination:-

    • The CBSE board conducted the CBSE 10th practical exam for winter-bound schools from November 6 to December 6, 2025. While the practical exam for all other CBSE-affiliated schools was held from January 1, 2026.
    • The CBSE board released the Class 10 board exam date sheet 2026 for theory exams on October 30, 2025. The revised and final schedule for the board exam was released on December 29, 2025.
    • The board released the CBSE class 10 syllabus 2025-26 PDFs for all subjects. Students should prepare with the latest CBSE 10th syllabus for the final board exams. 
    • The CBSE Class 10 photocopy of the evaluated answer book will be available in May/June 2026. Students can apply for result verification in June 2026.

    The CBSE board has set some eligibility criteria for students seeking to appear for the CBSE Class 10 exam 2026. They will have to fulfil the following eligibility conditions to be able to appear for the CBSE board 10th exam 2026:

    CBSE Class 10 Eligibility Criteria 2025-26 (Regular students)

    • He/she must have passed Class 9 examination from a school recognised or affiliated by the CBSE board or any other recognised board.
    • He/she must be studying in class 10 in a school affiliated with CBSE in the academic year 2025-26.
    • There is no age limit to appear for the CBSE 10th exam 2025-26. But at the time of admission, a student will have to fulfil the maximum and minimum age limits as determined by the government of the state/UT of the place where the school is located.
    • He/she must have obtained 75 per cent attendance in class 10 during the academic year 2025-26.
    • The student must have submitted the examination form with the requisite fee before the deadline. 
    • Only those applications that are accepted by the board will be allowed to sit for the CBSE Class 10 exams 2025-26.

    CBSE 10th exam 2025-26 Eligibility Criteria for Private students

    • Students who have failed in class 10 in the last academic year.

    • Wards of teachers who are serving in educational institutions/schools affiliated with CBSE.

    • Physically handicapped students who have difficulty attending classes in a normal institution or school.

    • Female students who satisfy the following conditions:

      • She must be a bona fide resident of the NCT of Delhi  

      • She must have privately pursued the prescribed course of study

      • She is unable to join class 10 in a school affiliated with the CBSE board.

    List of documents required to change from one school to another

    • Progress report card of the previous class.
    • Transfer/ School Leaving Certificate duly countersigned by the Educational Authorities in respect of State/ other than CBSE.
    • Transfer/Movement Order of the parent(s) in respect of transfer or proof of new residence in respect of shifting of the family from one place to another.

    The Central Board of Secondary Education releases CBSE class 10 registration forms for regular and private students.  

    Students who wish to appear for the CBSE 10th exam 2025-26 and fulfil all the eligibility conditions can fill out the registration form. They will have to pay the requisite fees and attach the required documents to submit the CBSE board 10th exam 2025-26 registration form successfully.

    The Central Board of Secondary Education prescribed the CBSE Class 10 exam pattern 2025-26. The board exam question paper will be designed as per the latest exam pattern of the CBSE Board 10th exam 2025-26. As per the latest exam pattern, CBSE 10th exams 2025-26 will consist of a total of 100 marks, which are subdivided into 2 parts, namely:

    • Theory paper: 80/70 Marks
    • Practical or Internal assessment: 20/30 Marks

    Internal assessment marking scheme

    The internal assessment consists of periodic tests (10 marks each), notebook submission (5 marks), and subject activities (5 marks). 3 periodic tests will be conducted in the entire academic session, and the average of the best two marks will be considered for the final weightage.     The CBSE has decided to allot marks for outdoor games & activities to every student. Health and Physical education have been mandatory for all students.     Only schools can download the CBSE admit card 2026 for their regular students. The admit card for regular students will be provided by the respective schools. Private students will be able to download their CBSE Class 10 exam admit card 2026 from cbse.gov.in by entering their credentials. Last year, the admit card was released on February 3, 2025, for regular and private students.
